CO₂ heat pump (using natural refrigerant CO₂, also known as R744) is a high-efficiency, eco-friendly heat pump system that can provide hot water up to 90–120°C or more. It’s especially suited for industrial, commercial, and residential applications that require high output temperatures, energy efficiency, and low environmental impact.
What is a CO₂ cascade heat pump?
Cascade configuration: Uses two refrigeration stages in series — often with CO₂ in one or both stages — to efficiently produce much higher water/steam temperatures than traditional singlestage units. “Cassade” CO₂ heat pumps are sophisticated, high-output heating systems, using cascade or stage compression to reach 90–130 °C or even steam. Leveraging CO₂’s low GWP and high efficiency, they’re excellent low-carbon alternatives for industrial hot water and heating needs — though with higher complexity and upfront cost compared to conventional solutions.
The core technology of the system includes a twin-rotor two-stage compressor to reduce exhaust temperature and pressure, combined with a three-stage countercurrent gas cooler to improve heat recovery efficiency.
Key components:Carel controller, Inverter water pump (Wilo) , Inverter compressor ( Dorin).
Specification from 6kw to 160kw, for residential and industrial usage
Dorin compressor, Wilo inverter! All are high qualified spares!
Typical Applications of CO₂ Heat Pumps
1. Domestic and Commercial Hot Water Supply
Hotels, hospitals, schools, and apartments
Produces high-temperature domestic hot water (60–90°C) efficiently, even in cold climates
Excellent for centralized systems with large demand
2. Industrial Process Heating
Food processing (pasteurization, sterilization, washing)
Pharmaceutical factories (jacket heating, drying)
Metal cleaning and degreasing
Suitable for preheating water or steam replacement
3. District Heating
Provides centralized heating to residential and commercial buildings
Delivers water at 80–100°C, ideal for retrofitting boiler systems
4. Combined Heating and Cooling (Cascade Systems)
Used in supermarkets, cold storage, and logistics centers
Simultaneous heating and cooling: heat from the cooling process is recovered and reused
5. Heat Recovery from Waste Heat
Upgrades low-temperature waste heat (20–50°C) to useful heat at much higher temperatures
Common in factories and wastewater treatment plants
