Leomon’s commercial heat pump water heaters utilize renewable thermal energy from the ambient air to heat water, providing a reliable, energy-efficient, and cost-effective hot water supply—24 hours a day, all year round. They are an ideal solution for commercial hot water applications.
By harnessing heat from the air, these systems offer energy savings of 60–80% compared to oil-fired boilers or conventional electric water heaters. They are perfectly suited for commercial facilities with high hot water demand, such as hotels, hospitals, spas, and hostels. This technology provides a safe and economical way to utilize ambient heat, significantly lowering operational costs—allowing you to meet your customers' needs while reducing energy expenses.
Heat pump water heaters are exceptionally energy-efficient because the majority of the heating energy is drawn from the external environment, with only a small fraction supplied by electricity. Consequently, 1 kW of electrical input can generate 4 kW of thermal output. In contrast, a traditional electric water heater produces only 1 kW of heat for every 1 kW of electricity consumed. As a result, these heat pumps can achieve a Coefficient of Performance (COP)—the ratio of output power to input power—of up to 4.

How does a heat pump work?
1. Absorbing heat from the ambient air: Leomon heat pumps operate by extracting heat from the surrounding air. Even in cold weather, thermal energy exists in the air, which the heat pump captures.
2. Refrigerant circulation: The system contains a refrigerant with a low boiling point. When this refrigerant comes into contact with the ambient air, it absorbs heat and evaporates into a gas.
3. Refrigerant compression: The gaseous refrigerant is then compressed by a compressor, which significantly raises its temperature.
4. Heat exchange: The high-temperature, compressed gas flows through a condenser, transferring its heat to the water within the system. This heat transfer warms the water, making it ready for use. 5. Expansion Valve: After releasing heat, the refrigerant flows through an expansion valve. This valve reduces the refrigerant's pressure, causing it to cool down and return to a liquid state.
6. Evaporation: The cooled liquid refrigerant then passes through an evaporator, where it absorbs heat from the surrounding air, beginning the cycle anew.
7. Continuous Cycle: As long as the heat pump is in operation, this process repeats, continuously extracting heat from the air and transferring it to the water.
8. Enhanced Efficiency: Leomon heat pumps utilize advanced compressor technology, optimized heat exchangers, and intelligent control systems to boost efficiency. This ensures maximum heat extraction from the air with minimal energy consumption.
9. Backup Heating: In colder climates or during periods of peak demand, Leomon heat pumps can be equipped with backup heating elements to ensure a consistent supply of hot water.
